  • The Heart, The Mind, The Ears, and Music

    The heart was pounding.

    Faster

    Faster

    Faster still

The heart began to feel scared

    The mind began to worry

The mind tried to calm the heart down by thinking

“It’s going to be okay, you’re going to be fine!”

But the more the mind tried to calm the heart,

the more the heart would pound.

    THUMP!

    THUMP!

    THUMP!

The heart was now like thunder.

It felt as though the chest was too small and too weak to handle the intensity of the thunderous heart,

which continued to try and free itself from the cage where it has been imprisoned for what seemed like eternity.

The ears heard a door slam shut.

    SQUEEK-BANG!!

    THEN

the ears heard pounding footsteps getting ever nearer.

    BA-BOOM!

    BA-BOOM!

    BA-BOOM!

    With each pounding step,

so the heart would pound too,

until both the pounding step  and the pounding heart would pound together in unison.

    Thump-Boom!

    THUMP-Boom!

    THUMP-BOOM!!!

    …….

    ………….

    ………………

    ………….

    ……..

    Then all was silent,

all except for the continual pounding of the unsure heart, questioning if it was out of harm’s way.

While the heart continued to pound,

    the mind was completely calm.

    The heart was still scared,

but the mind no longer worried.

The mind tried to calm the heart once more by thinking

“Everything IS okay, everything IS fine.”

But the heart continued to pound.

The ears discontinued hearing pounding steps that once grew nearer.

All the ears heard now were trickling sounds,

as if water was slowly climbing down into still, peaceful water.

    Drip

    Drip

    Drip

    The ears heard that

    AND

the still pounding but slowing heart.

    THUMP-drip

    …….

    THump-drip

    ………

    ………

    thump-drip

    ……..

    ……….

    ……….

    Thump-Boom

    ………

    ..........

    THUMP-Boom

    …………

    THUMP-BOOM!!!

  • MLK weekend

So this weekend was a very relaxing and entertaining one.

    FRIDAY NIGHT:

It all started out with a huge party in my dorm room, which consisted of us making magnets with our fists. There were a total of two people at this party......me......and lauren. Then later that night we turned on the TV and watched one of the best hugh grant movies ever.....Music and Lyrics. Then the party was over and it was time for the next round of "parties" to begin after a huge sleeping party...for about 11 hours.

    SATURDAY:

Saturday consisted of an attemt to be productive. This productivness was soon to be dicovered as impossible. I tried to do laundry, but all the washer were taken, so i took that as a sign from God that laundry just isnt my calling for Saturday. I then tried to repeat this productiveness by practicing. I think you all can tell where i am going with this. Thats right, I was able to sit down and concentrate for 3 hours on my music, i got a whole lot done and felt really good about what i did.........................................................few minutes to let you be confused..............................and of course i am completly joking! I got nothing done, i went down in the practice rooms and tried to play but the sore on my lip stopped me within 20 minutes. Then Lauren, Kera, Ben and I went to McDonalds then walmart (where we only bought essentials + about 15 DVDs from the 5 dollar bin).Okay, then later this same Saturday, but now in the evening, Ben came over and we decided to watch 3 movies. 1) Thank you for Smoking 2) Thumbtanic (i know what you thinking....it sounds like Titanic with thumbs....well, you are right....good job!) 3) Robinhood: Men in Tights. All three of these movie were pretty good (Thumbtanic has some great surprises that i wasnt expecting) and i would recomend them to anybody. Then came the sleep, again 11 hours.

    SUNDAY:

Did nothing again in the afternoon. Then for some reason we (ben, kevin, and I) decided to make lauren a man, then we ended up bringing "lawarence" to Taco Bell. Then later Ben was made into a woman, and paraded around hewett. I really dont konw how this all happend, but it did and thats all you need to know. Then we decided to watch more movies. We watched 1) Be Kind Rewind 2) Fight Club 3)Shes the man. All of these were good except for "She's the Man", which was the creepiest, most awkward movie EVER......NEVER watch it! I really liked Fight Club (minus the violence, and the whole fighting thing). Then Be Kind Rewind was SOOOO good, i definatly found a new favorite movie of all time (WATCH IT!!!!). In the middle of Fight Club our room kept getting ransom notes about laurens stuffed fish nemo (which she cant do without). Apparently Nemo was taken by Joel, Emma, Heather, and Eric, becuase lauren decided to dress up like a man instead of going to FUEL. So after the movie was over we decide to try and fight back, and after many texts, many scemes to take Joels matress, many tampons, and Kevin forgeting to lock the door. They finally got us and gave us nemo back as long as lauren went to feul. Then we all went to bed at around 5am, giving me a wonderful 9 hours of sleep.

    MONDAY:

I woke up at 1:30. I got dress and cleaned up the room from the night before. I went to breakfast/lunch and found kevin there and ate with him. Then i went back to my room, put laundry in. Watched yet ANOTHER movie (Prince and Me). Finished laundry. Ate Dinner. Practiced (have a lot of stuff to do). Went to Encounter (which keeps me sane, after an obviously insane weekend). Spent an hour on dictation (shouldnt take that long). Started typing this post. Finished typing this post.
